Glacier High School Student Named State Winner in Doodle for Google Contest

Glacier High School student Anita Ravipati is the Montana state winner of the 16th annual Doodle for Google contest.

Ravipati is one of 55 state and territory winners. The winners' work will be displayed in an online gallery where people can vote for their favourite design to determine one of five finalists, who will be the national winner.

The state winners were judged based on their artistic skill, creativity and expression of the contest theme through their doodles and supporting writing.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Google asked elementary, middle, and high school students across the United States to answer the question, “What are my hopes for the next 25 years?”

My aspiration for the next 25 years is to become someone who can make a lasting impact on people. My goal is to help others in any way I can. I want to be a doctor who saves lives. I also want to be a kind, brave and honest person,” Ravipati said while interpreting the theme.

The national winner will be announced in June and will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and $50,000 to establish/improve a computer lab or technology program at their school. The winning doodle will be exhibited for one day at www.google.com.

The remaining four national finalists will receive $5,000 in college scholarships and a Chromebook. The remaining state winners will each receive a Chromebook.
