Counter Strike Pro player sentenced to 116 years in prison
A former Counter-Strike player Shayene "shAy" Victorio was found guilty of fraud and sentenced to 116 years in prison "plus fines". As reported by Universo Online, allegations were brought against Victorio that she received payment from her storefront customers; however, she never delivered the products.
Victorio made a name for himself by playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on a professional level. But she left the gaming world to become a social media influencer, with tens of thousands of followers.
The former Brazilian e-sport actor also operated a shop window between 2013 and 2017. Victorio would not have delivered the products to more than 100 customers who had already made the payment. In addition, the amount has never been refunded.
Thus, Victorio was sentenced to 116 years in prison, even if Brazil imposes a sentence of 30 years in prison for a single crime.
Victorio, with his lawyer, appeals the case, saying that his former business partners and her ex-husband are at fault. His lawyer also added that the 116-year sentence was "inhuman".
"We will appeal the conviction which we consider to be inhumane, pending a new decision and under the guise of the principle of innocence",his lawyer told Universo Online.
In addition, Victorio clarified in his Instagram post that she was not arrested yet because she was on a call. However, if the appeal fails, which is very unlikely, then only she can be detained.
