Stover’s 9 saves for Austin in a 0-0 draw with Earthquakes

Austin, Texas – Brad Stover tied his career nine saves to help Austin FC draw 0-0 with the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday night.

Stover, who made nine saves last time out in a 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City on June 12, stopped twice in the final minutes. He saved the dive with a shot by Carlos Fierro in the 83rd minute and Cristian Espinosa shot it outside the post in the 88th minute.

Austin has not lost (2-4-3) in three consecutive games but has not lost any in the last six games.

James Marcinkowski saved six times for San Jose (3-5-1). The Earthquakes snapped a four-game losing streak.

Stuver, the 30-year-old in his ninth season in MLS, has played every minute in goal this season for Austin. His nine starts this season match his run of the year total and he has 47 saves. His highest level the previous season was in Rescue 10.
