A man was shot and killed while driving in Maple Heights; hit the balcony

MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) – Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect they say shot and killed a man who was driving in Maple Heights.

At about 8:30 p.m., officers drove to Building 5500 on Clement Street, to make a call about the shooting and the SUV that had hit a residence, according to a statement from the Maple Heights Police Department.

A 1-year-old died alone with a 6-year-old after being trapped between a bed and a wall

When the officers got there, they said they found a black Ford SUV that crashed into a porch.

The 22-year-old driver of the four-wheel drive was taken to Marymount Hospital, where he died of a gunshot wound to the back, according to the statement. No passengers were injured.

Police say the victim’s SUV followed the suspect into his car, then shot the victim.

The owner of the house, which is across the street from Maple Heights High School, said she had just hosted a birthday party earlier but was inside when the car crashed into the house.

“It felt like an earthquake and the house shook,” she said when she explained what happened.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a silver SUV or a sunroof truck.
