The tremor was recorded on the morning of Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 8:15 a.m. local time, at a very shallow depth of 2.1 miles below the surface, and the event was submitted by the US Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. A second report was later issued by the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), which also listed it as a 3.4-magnitude earthquake, and based on initial seismic data, the earthquake was not supposed to cause any significant damage, but it is likely that People feel it.
