Greenhouse gas emissions fall due to coronavirus blockage – BBC News

The positive impact of the Coronavirus pandemic has been on the environment. It has been the largest ever reduction in the volume of carbon dioxide emitted into the world’s atmosphere.

At the top of the lock, scientists say daily emissions from around the world have dropped by nearly a fifth. The biggest drop was in China, where the UK’s carbon dioxide output fell by 13%. But scientists warn that the greenhouse gas cuts will be temporary.

Meanwhile in the United States, President Trump has been heavily criticized by health experts after stating that he was taking an anti-malarial drug to protect against coronavirus. Regulators have warned that there is no evidence that hydrochlorochlorine provides protection against Covid-19 and that it can cause heart problems.

Huw Edwards presents the BBC News in ten reports by Science Editor David Shukman and North American correspondent Nick Bryant.
