Boris Johnson will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron this weekend to try to remove growing tensions over post-Brexit fishing rights. The two leaders are attending a G20 summit in Rome, acknowledging the seriousness of the UK and France’s access to each other’s territorial waters. France says the UK has denied dozens of boats in the UK a fishing license. Britain says most of the licenses have been issued, but some French vessels do not comply with the rules for fishing in UK waters. France has already confiscated a UK ship and is now threatening to block British ships entering its ports.
