A big earthquake could destroy Red Hill tanks

Can our volcanologists assure the people of Hawaii that a 5.0 to 8.0 earthquake is unlikely to hit the islands in the next 100 years?

If such a catastrophic earthquake strikes our state, would one or more of the fuel tanks at the Red Hill bulk fuel storage facility be damaged or damaged? If that happens, what will happen to the Moanalua-Waimalu aquifer? How is an entire aquifer cleaned?

I think the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster in Japan clearly demonstrated that no amount of safety measures can protect the facility when the power of Mother Nature is on the other side.

The city tee time system is worse than the old one

The new tee system is worse than the old one.

Did anyone at the city’s Department of Parks and Recreation try the new tee time reservation system before deciding to switch, or did they go with what was put up?

For all the flaws in the old system, at least when you were offered a tee time, that time was available. You can book it or try at a different time elsewhere.

The new system will save you time and when you try to book it, “wink”, it’s gone. It’s like trying to buy Bruno Mars tickets online.

Gosar slammed, but 10-year-old girl arrested

U.S. Representative Paul Gosar and his crew have produced an anime-style video that depicts a conspicuous character wielding a sword killing U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joe Biden.

A 10-year-old girl in Hawaii has her hands handcuffed and arrested for drawing a picture depicting the murder of a fellow student (“Honolulu Police Department arrests commission for 10-year-old girl tells ‘reasonable’, ‘necessary,’ Star- Advertiser, Nov. 4).

Gosar goes unpunished but for some criticism.

This unequal application of laws is outrageous. I hope Congress does the right thing, but I won’t hold my breath.
