Columbia, South Carolina (WMBF) – Another earthquake was reported in South Carolina early Saturday.

According to the South Carolina Department of Emergency Management and the US Geological Survey, a 1.8-magnitude earthquake was confirmed near the Elgin area around 6:25 a.m.

According to USGS data, it marks the 16th earthquake in the state since December 20, 2021.

Most earthquakes have been reported in the Elgin and Lugoff regions – while others have been confirmed in the Lowcountry.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
