Four earthquakes struck the northwestern region of Galicia, Spain, within one hour on Thursday, January 27, the country’s Institute of National Geographic (IGN) said.

According to IGN, the first earthquake occurred at 2.57 pm on Thursday and measured 3.7 on the Richter scale, followed by a 4.6 magnitude earthquake at 3.44 pm local time, and was felt along the coast and in cities like Pontevedra and Vigo, according to reports. Xinhua News Agency.

Then two lighter tremors of 1.9 and 2.5 on the Richter scale occurred within 13 minutes. The epicenter of the earthquakes, with a depth of about 3 km, is located off the western coast of the region in the Atlantic Ocean, IGN said.
