An earthquake of 5.5 magnitude struck about 14 miles west of Ridgecrest, California in Las Vegas.

Wednesday night’s earthquake struck about 10 miles south of the Cereles Valley, California at 6:32 pm, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Dr. Lucy Jones, an established voice in seismology, provided further insight into the earthquake.
