White mud destroys crops all over India – BBC News

Rumors of prawns in some parts of India are having a devastating effect on agricultural areas.

A single center can hold about 80 million insects and has destroyed both crops and livelihoods in northern and central states.

Officials are trying to determine whether or not the release of chemicals into the crop will help destroy the insects, but the fight to contain them will not be easy.

The mudslides have also caused problems in other parts of the world in Pakistan and several countries in East Africa.
