SCVNews.com | Caltrans will close multiple I-210 slopes in the San Fernando Valley for 45 days

The California Department of Transportation has announced long-term closures of several highways heading west of Interstate 210 on and off the slopes in Lake View Terrace and Sylmar for paving work. Residents and local businesses located near the highway may be exposed to noise, vibration, and dust associated with construction activities.

Crews will close the following ramps on I-210 westbound for up to 45 days:

Foothill Boulevard / Osborne Street On and off the slopes starting Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 7 p.m. Maclay Street on and off the slopes starting Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 7 p.m.

In addition, crews will reopen the slopes of Wetland Street on Tuesday, April 26 after undergoing a long-term shutdown in March. Closing the ramps will allow additional space for crews to clear the far right path. Motorists are advised to use it as an alternative route during the lockdown period. All closures are weather permitting and subject to change. Drivers are encouraged to check the traffic situation before leaving for their destination.

Work on I-210 is part of a $135.5 million project to replace all I-210 lanes with new wharf from Wheatland Street to I-5. This project is funded by Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017. The project is also upgrading the overhead sign structures, traffic loop detectors, center rail and guardrail system.

Caltrans reminds drivers to be “work zone alert” and “slow to cone zone.”
