After 47 minutes of MLS chaos, the game slowed down as teams began using end-game tactics. The LAFC team focused on maintaining possession and killing every possible second, while San Jose began putting in the long ball as they looked for space to create a potential equalizer.

It won’t, however, for San Jose, with Black and Gold doing a good job of defending when needed while still providing a real threat in attack until the final whistle blew. After a difficult period in which the team lost three of their last four – including the aforementioned loss to LA Galaxy at USOC – it was great to see the team take home wins, with an international break long in sight.

For players selected by their national teams, this break is an opportunity to add more powerful performances ahead of the illustrious World Cup call-ups. For those not on the national rosters, this break is a chance to rest, recuperate, recover and begin the next phase of the 2022 campaign. The team is back in action, Saturday, June 18 when they face the Seattle Sounders. This will be a historic weekend, with a double header featuring the NWSL team, Angel City FC, as they face the Seattle Reigns later that evening.
