Aru Islands Public Prosecutor’s Office arrests fugitive after 6 years of stalking

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The intelligence team of the Aru Islands District Prosecutor’s Office, Maluku, has been able to arrest the convicted graft suspect Tommy Watimina who has been on the wanted list (DPO) for the past six years in Ambon. Thomie was sentenced to four years in prison.

The accused was arrested in the case of the construction of three new classrooms at Gilia Christian Primary School, Aru Regency Island, in 2007 in Kudamati Village, Nusanui District, Ambon City after being under surveillance since Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Wahyudi explained that Thomi was arrested based on Supreme Court Decision No. 1020 K/Pidsus/2015 of May 27, 2015 in conjunction with PT Ambon Decision No. 09/Pid Tipikor/2014/PT.AMB of November 12, 2014.

Thomie Watimina as the owner of CV Letmi Pratama and contractor on a project to build new classrooms for Jelia Christian Primary Primary School, has been found guilty of breaching Section 2 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Section 18 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20/2001.

“Apart from imprisonment, the person in question was also sentenced to pay a fine of Rs 97.623 million, with the subsidiary being held for three months in prison,” Al Wahyudi clarified.

After apprehending the fugitive, the intelligence team sent him to the Ambon Public Prosecutor’s Office for an administrative and identity check, and then taken to Dubbo, Arrow Regency Island, to serve his sentence.
