A 4.2-magnitude earthquake rocked parts of northern California Friday night, and the quake struck about 4.3 miles southeast of the Oroville region at about 6:41 p.m., according to the US Geological Survey. The agency originally stated it was a magnitude 4.3, but downgraded it by 7 p.m., and more than 300 people have reported to the USGS that they felt the quake. There were reports of people feeling shaking as far north as Chico and as far south as Colfax, and the quake was too small to deliver a vibration alert to people’s phones, according to USGS Shake Alert Twitter.
