808 aftershocks have been recorded so far after the Abra earthquake

MANILA, Philippines – The number of aftershocks following the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Ipra has now reached 808, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said Thursday morning.

Of the aftershocks, 126 were charted, while 24 were recorded, according to Phivolks as of 7:00 a.m.

Phivolks said aftershocks ranged in magnitude from 1.5 to 5.0.

The agency earlier warned of aftershocks for several days and even months, after classifying the 7.0-magnitude quake in Abra as a “major quake.”

Damage to structures, power lines, walls and bridges was reported in several provinces.
