Delhi-NCR and adjacent cities felt seismic tremors on July 3, 2020, lasting nearly 3-4 seconds. The epicenter, with its epicenter in Alwar district of Rajasthan, was 35 km deep and 4.7 on the Richter scale. Reports of this phenomenon have become frequent globally.

The truth is that the earthquake is not related to the sin of the region, nor is it due to God’s discipline. The true importance of the earthquake is that it is a reminder of the Day of Resurrection. What happens before, during, and after an earthquake is simply a microcosm of what will happen on a horrific scale on Judgment Day as stated in the Qur’an in these words:

When the earth vibrates with its violent vibration, when the earth gets rid of its burdens, when a person asks, “What happens to it? On that day he recounts his account, because your Lord is his face.

On that day people will come in separate groups to showcase their work: Whoever does the smallest particles of good will see it; While everyone who did the smallest particles of evil will see it. ”(99: 1-8)

God built this world as a temporary test ground. When this trial period ends, God will cause a severe earthquake. Under its influence all structures will collapse, all bastions of human greatness will disappear from the face of the earth, and civilization as we know it will cease to exist. Then, God, in his full power, will create a new world in which each of his creatures will be rewarded according to His deeds.

The correct stance of natural disasters is that one must learn a lesson from them. In order to observe the right behavior in this world, one needs only one thing. He must have been entrenched in his mind that he is under divine supervision at every moment. The works of his entire life will be displayed in God’s court. Whether big or small, it is done secretly or publicly, everything there will be registered.

If a person is completely convinced of this reality, he will be completely shaken even before the world is shaken. Before the doomsday earthquake he will witness an earthquake in his soul that will completely change him. As a result, he will become his own bodyguard. He will adopt a disciplined life instead of a licensing life. He will use his powers as guided by God’s command rather than act independently.
