Chicharito silences San Jose Earthquakes fans with a prop

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez has been at his peak this season with the LA Galaxy and scored twice on Saturday night in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes. The Mexico international scored 17 goals and provided two assists in 30 games, 29 of which were at the start, ahead of the remaining two games of the regular season.

Before the Cali Clasico, San Jose Earthquakes fans unveiled a clown typho to mock LA Galaxy players, and that didn’t sit well with Javier Hernandez. The Ultras also unveiled a banner that read “LA Circus, same clowns, different costumes,” and this sparked Chicharito’s dominant performance throughout the match.

The former Manchester United striker scored twice and celebrated by acting like a clown against the San Jose Earthquakes ultras every time. Galaxy won the match for the much-needed three points and they continued to make a late push to secure a place in the MLS Cup playoffs this season.

“The best way to answer. People sometimes think that with these kinds of messages they are going to undermine a team, but on the contrary. So thank them for giving me more reasons to win the game and get the three points,” the LA Galaxy captain said after the game regarding his celebrations.

LA Galaxy are now fifth with 46 points and are looking to secure a seventh spot in the top spots to qualify for the playoffs this season in the Western Conference. Next on the Galaxy is a home game against Real Salt Lake (October 1), a direct contender in their battle to qualify for the playoffs, and will finish the regular season on the road against the Houston Dynamo (October 9).
