A small earthquake shook parts of central Maryland on Tuesday evening.

The US Geological Survey said the 2.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sykesville, Maryland, at about 11:49 p.m. at a depth of 3.1 miles.

The agency has reported 75 earthquake reports through its Do You Feel It website with residents of Anne Arundel and Montgomery counties. Most responses report feeling weak to a slight vibration.

A spokesperson for the Howard County Sheriff’s Department told WTOP that 911 had received a few calls from people who “heard a bang or were in shock.”
