Officials said a moderate earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit the Chamhay district of Mizoram Sunday afternoon, the seventh earthquake that rocked the northeastern state in two weeks.

According to officials from the Mizoram state disaster control center, there were no reports of any damage to the state due to the tremor that occurred at 5.26 pm Sunday afternoon. Indian Meteorological Department officials said the epicenter was at a depth of 77 km on the ground, and was also felt in the neighboring regions of Myanmar.
