Monterey Park gunman found dead after killing 10, California police say – BBC News

Police in California have announced that a gun suspected of killing 10 people in a ballroom dance studio has been found dead in a van. Huu Can Tran, 72, suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene, LA County Sheriff Robert Luna said. Lunar New Year celebrations were taking place in Monterey Park at the time of the mass shooting, which has been declared the deadliest in California history. Another 10 people were injured in the shooting, and seven are still in hospital, some in critical condition. The police still do not know the motive of the attack.
