UNICEF and its partner’s emergency response is being strengthened by harnessing the invaluable support of 5,370 youth volunteers, including 2,705 adolescent girls and young women who, although affected by the earthquake, are eager to engage as strategic partners in helping other earthquake-affected children, and peers. and families.

Overview of the situation and humanitarian needs
