Rohingya Muslims are an ethnic minority in neighboring Myanmar, which is predominantly Buddhist. In 2017, hundreds of thousands of Rohingya fled military operations by the Myanmar army in which many people were killed. At that time we reported on a family that had become refugees overnight.
