Brexit: EU Prime Minister sends unsigned request to delay Brexit – BBC News

Boris Johnson has asked the EU to delay Brexit but without his signature.

The request was accompanied by a second letter, signed by Mr. Johnson, believing the delay would be a mistake.

The Prime Minister urged the EU to extend the deadline of October 31 after losing the Commons vote.

EU Council President Donald Tusk tweeted that he has received an extension request.

He did not give details of his content, but added that he would consult with EU leaders "how to react".

An hour after losing a vote in a historic session of the House of Commons on Saturday, the prime minister ordered a senior diplomat not to sign a photocopy of the call to send MPs last month to the so-called Benn Act.
