The Saudi border was not affected by a 4.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the Red Sea

Saudi newspaper report

JEDDAH – A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck in the middle of the Red Sea on Thursday morning, according to the official spokesman for the Saudi Geological Survey.

Official spokesman Tariq Aba Al-Khail said: “Praise be to God; The Saudi borders were not affected by this earthquake.” He explained that the stations of the National Seismic Monitoring Network at the Geological Hazards Center detected this morning at 6:52:29 an earthquake that was felt in the middle of the Red Sea, with a seismic intensity of 4.4 on the Richter scale, and a depth of 32 kilometers. Aba Al-Khail attributed this earthquake to the Red Sea fault, which represents the western limit of the Arab tectonic plates and their deviation from the African tectonic plates.

According to studies, the seismic situation in general in the Kingdom ranges from “weak” to “moderate,” which is a reassuring situation. SGS continuously conducts seismic risk assessment studies. It also conducts detailed studies on proposed sites for the construction of major strategic development projects in the Kingdom in order to design earthquake-resistant buildings based on the Saudi Building Code.

The Authority carries out activities related to various earth sciences, including geological survey work, mineral exploration, and conducting research and studies related to earth sciences, such as monitoring earthquakes, studying volcanoes, and risks resulting from torrents, floods, and mining waste. It also undertakes full supervision of the network, follows up on relevant government stations, officially notifies them of seismic events, and provides an information base for all Saudi universities and research centers immediately and continuously.

The General Authority of Geological Survey has established a number of seismic stations equipped with the latest equipment to capture the smallest earthquakes that occur in seismically active areas. It also continuously assesses volcanic risks in the Kingdom by conducting volcanic movement studies and preparing the necessary reports and maps on an ongoing basis for the areas under study.

Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless.
