Palestinian workers in Gaza have told the BBC they have been blindfolded, arrested, forced to strip and repeatedly beaten by Israeli troops following an attack on a hospital last month. The Israel Defense Forces denied harming medical staff during the operation. They said, “Any ill-treatment of detainees is against IDF orders and is therefore strictly prohibited.” The IDF attacked the Nasser hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis – one of the few in the Strip still functioning – on February 15. They said that intelligence indicated that there were Hamas personnel in the hospital. Likewise, they said that the Israeli hostages taken by Hamas on October 7 were kept there, and some of the hostages themselves publicly said that they were kept in the hospital.
