Sporting Kansas City continues to dominate the earthquakes

Sporting Kansas City's run of success at home and San Jose's difficult situation to start the new season continued on Saturday as the hosts came out on top with a 2-1 decision in Kansas City, Kansas.

Kansas City improved to 17-1-4 against San Jose at home across all contests since 2004. Sporting Kansas City is now 5-0-1 at Children's Mercy Park since last September.

San Jose outshot Kansas City 13-5, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Earthquakes also had a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks.
