Lexington, Kentucky (WKYT) – an earthquake was captured by the United States's geological survey early Sunday morning in Northern Garrard.

Just one day ago, the 4.1-size earthquake in the Tennessee-North Carolina border shook homes in southern Kentucky on Saturday.

Dr. Seth Carpenter, the earth's earthquake in the United Kingdom, says the 4.1 -size earthquake was about 30 miles south of Novesville, inside the East Teenisi earthquake.

Dr. Carptter says that the UK station was the closest to the mile center.

Dr. Carptter says earthquakes in the center of Kentucky are more rare.

“It is a real challenge to predicting earthquakes, in fact, most earthquake scientists are not trying to do so,” says Dr. Carpenter.

For the expected future, Dr. Carptter says he does not expect any major earthquakes to follow these earthquakes.
