The 6.0 earthquake was killed at least 1,400 people and thousands of people were injured in the eastern region of Afghanistan.

The Sacramento region is home to one of the largest American Afghan societies in the United States.

Rahim Amiri said: “He could have been my family, I could be my or my children.”

Amiri escaped from Afghanistan decades ago, which ultimately made Sacramento the place where he was raising his family.

He is the owner of the East Sacrametho, a restaurant in the Middle East celebrating the third anniversary of its founding.
