Children make up more than half of the deaths in the earthquake of Afghanistan, the United Nations says

Kabul, Afghanistan – The United Nations Fund (UNICEF) said on Friday that at least 1172 children were killed in the earthquake last month in eastern Afghanistan, and they form more than half of the total deaths.

He said: “In these remote mountainous societies, children face multiple threats, including inappropriate injuries, unsafe water and sanitation, exacerbation of malnutrition, chopped education, and deep emotional distress.”

Earlier this week, UNICEF has made $ 22 million to support 400,000 people affected by the earthquake, including more than 212,000 children, over the next six months.
