The program continues to respond to earthquakes in Afghanistan

Supporting information and communications technology services to the human community, WFP has published Vsat Internet and UHF Radio Services in Konar Province to facilitate emergency operations. The World Food Program has installed solar energy systems to ensure sustainable energy for critical communications and human coordination.

Operating challenges and financing

The region affected by the earthquake is a mountainous area, where it left off-terrain, poor road networks and the fully weak communities of communities-which makes it difficult for humanitarian teams to respond. The country's response continues at the country level in the face of a large financing shortage, forcing the purposes to limit support to less than a million people per month.
