A 6.1 magnitude earthquake hits Türkiye and buildings collapse

A strong earthquake shook western Türkiye on Monday, causing the collapse of at least three buildings damaged in a previous quake, officials said. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD) stated that the epicenter of the earthquake, which measured 6.1 on the Richter scale, was in the town of Sinderji in Balikesir Province.
