Border Patrol commander defends himself in court in Chicago

Gregory Bovino, the top Border Patrol agent overseeing immigration enforcement in Chicago, testified today before U.S. District Judge Sara Ellis after prosecutors challenging the crowd control tactics and intensive use of ammunition accused Ellis of violating a restraining order that imposed strict limits on the use of tear gas during immigration protests. Ellis ordered Bovino to report in person every weekday for the next week about the operation and whether his agents are complying with his temporary restraining order.
