This is after the Senate voted to introduce a temporary funding bill last night. The chamber is scheduled to make amendments to it today. The agreement is a compromise between centrist Democrats and Republicans. It does not extend until Obamacare benefits expire — many Democrats opposed it. Republicans agree to vote on support by early next month. The bill funds a large portion of the government through January. The broader deal includes longer provisions related to military construction, Veterans Affairs — the legislative branch — and agriculture. The plan will be funded unexpectedly during September. For federal workers – the agreement guarantees payment of shutdown benefits. It reverses recent mass dismissals — and prohibits more this fiscal year. Parker Kitchen presents a check totaling $215,000 to Parker Home for Women. The donation comes from a recent PARKER campaign – where customers can collect their purchases at checkout. The company then matched 25 percent of all donations to make an even greater impact. In addition to the screening, Parker team members collected clothing, toiletries and other necessities for the women who live here in the Parker home. Since opening – Parker Home has helped more than 800 women – more than half of whom now live in stable housing.
