A 6.5-magnitude earthquake was reported in Japan on Thursday (March 26), according to the US Geological Survey.

The earthquake was reported 122 kilometers (about 76 miles) east of Yamada and was centered at a depth of 9.5 kilometers (about six miles) at 2:18 pm UTC. The US Geological Survey said it had not received any reports of people feeling the quake as of press time on Thursday.
