Iran launched attacks on Israel over the weekend in retaliation for Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Israel fired back at Iran. Asked by the BBC on Sunday whether Netanyahu had defied Iran by firing, Trump said the missiles were “already on their way” when he spoke to the Israeli prime minister and asked him not to retaliate. “If I tell Mr. Netanyahu to do something, he does it,” Mr. Trump added. Last week, as he warned against Israeli strikes in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Mr Trump called Mr Netanyahu “crazy” and accused him of ingratitude. The US president also said that he “calls all the shots”, and that Mr Netanyahu “will have no choice” but to accept the US deal with Iran.
