Hosene San Jose Earthquakes are out for the rest of the regular season after surgery

San Jose Earthquakes announced striker Danny Hosen underwent surgery on Friday to repair his torn oblique and adductor muscles.

The club says it is expected to miss the remainder of the regular season, which is set to end on November 8.

The 29-year-old is in his fourth season with Earthquakes. He has one goal in eight games in the regular season this season, but Hussen has been a solid choice on the bench in Matias Almeida’s tenure as head coach at San Jose and it is unclear if injury hindered him or if he is not considered a key player at the moment. The Dutch striker has scored 23 goals and 12 assists in 104 regular season appearances in his MLS career. Prior to joining Quakes, he played in his native Netherlands for Fortuna Sittard, Ajax and FC Groningen, in England for Fulham, and in Finland and Greece.
