Are you looking for a recent earthquake? Check out our latest daily list of earthquakes. Did you feel the vibration? If yes, let us know using the I FELT IT form behind the earthquake or at the bottom of this page.

A moderate earthquake occurred at around 17:38:02 PM. (UTC) in the border region between Myanmar and India, near the city of Imphal, India. Recent modest earthquakes in the same area have occurred in the past, and they will continue to occur as tectonic plates continue to interact between each other.

Only during 2020, 72 earthquakes of magnitude 3.5 occurred in this region. The largest magnitude 5.9 earthquake was located 38 km from Valm, Myanmar on May 16, 2020. This is a result of interaction between the Eurasian and Indian plate colliding with each other, creating the largest mountain range and high earthquake activity as well.

A Shakemap for this event was created to measure the potential impacts caused by this earthquake.

Little damage expected.

General warning. I had difficulty standing up. Notice motorists who may stop. Fittings: large bells ringing. Furniture moves on soft floors, and it may move on carpeted floors. Serious damage to the fragile contents of buildings. Structures: cracked stone walls and unreinforced bricks. The low standard buildings cracked with some minor masonry falls. Few cases of damage to normal buildings. Unlined parapets, unconstrained brick gables, and architectural motifs are falling off. Brick, especially hilly tiles may be knocked out. Many unsupported home chimneys are damaged, often falling from the roof line. Water tanks of the first type burst. Few cases of damage to brick veneer, plaster or cement-based linings. Unrestricted water cylinders (hot water cylinders) may move and leak. Some common windows cracked. Suspended ceilings Damaged Environment: Muddy muddy water. Small slides such as sand and gravel falls, small rock falls from steep cliffs and seedlings. Stabilization states of unconsolidated, moist or weak soils. Some fine cracks appear in the ground slope. A small number of liquefaction states (eg, small water and sand blasting).

MMI VIII (intense shaking)?

People’s alarm may approach panic. The steering of cars was greatly affected. Structures: Low-standard buildings are badly damaged, some are collapsing. Regular industrial buildings were damaged, some of them partially collapsed. Reinforced or concrete buildings were damaged in some cases. Few cases of damage to buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes. Monuments, raised reservoirs, and pre-1976 factory piles are twisted or knocked down. Some of the pre-1965 building slabs are damaged. Few brick veneers were damaged after 1980. Piles of wood from homes collapsed with damage. Uninsured homes may move to enterprises. Most of the unsupported household chimneys were damaged, some are below the roof line, and many have fallen off. Environment: cracks appear on steep slopes and wet ground. Small to medium slip in roadside cuttings and unsupported fossils. Small water and sand outlets, localized lateral spread near streams, canals, lakes, etc.

MMI ix (violent vibration)?

The structures destroyed many low-level buildings. Heavy damage to normal industrial buildings, and some collapse. Reinforced construction or concrete buildings were damaged, some with partial collapse. Buildings and bridges designed and built to resist earthquakes damaged in some cases, some with flexible frames damaged severely. Permanent damage or deformation of some buildings and bridges, designed and built on normal use standards. Uninsured homes of institutions have been turned off. The brick veneer falls and exposes the tire. Environment: the ground is clearly cracked. General slide on steep slopes. Liquefaction effects are further intensified and spread, with large lateral spread and flow sliding near streams, channels, lakes, etc.

What Are The Main Benefits Of Comparing Car Insurance Quotes Online

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 24, 2020, / Compare-autoinsurance.Org has launched a new blog post that presents the main benefits of comparing multiple car insurance quotes. For more info and free online quotes, please visit https://compare-autoinsurance.Org/the-advantages-of-comparing-prices-with-car-insurance-quotes-online/ The modern society has numerous technological advantages. One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
