Actions on Twitter and Facebook about Joe Biden’s article spark bias claims – BBC News
Twitter described itself as an “unacceptable” way to communicate the management of a controversial article about the hopeful U.S. President Joe Biden. On Wednesday, Twitter prevented people from posting links to a New York Post story, and those who tried to click on it warned that the link was “potentially unsafe.” He later explained that he had limited sharing because the story contained “pirated materials”. Facebook also took action, limiting the distribution of the report in the news feed. He said it was done within a “standard process” to give third-party verifiers time to review the content and decide whether to treat it as misinformation. However, it is very common for an article published by one of the major popular newspapers to treat this as such. It has been less than three weeks since Mr. Biden, the Democratic nominee, met with Republican President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 presidential election. The moves by Twitter and Facebook have renewed allegations of censorship and bias on social media. #BBCOS #BBCOutsideSource Please subscribe HERE .
