Milk Tea Alliance: Thai and Hong Kong activists fighting for democracy – BBC News

In recent months, Thailand has seen waves of youth-led protests similar to those seen in 2019 in Hong Kong. From hand signals to flashmobs, pro-democracy activists in Thailand are spreading tactics learned at demonstrations in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, Hong Kong is organizing online campaigns in support of and raising awareness in Thailand’s protests. They are part of a special Asian youth movement called the Milk Tea Alliance, which also includes Taiwan supporters. Two famous protesters – Joshua Wong from Hong Kong and Akkarasorn Opilan from Thailand – tell us how the two sides are helping each other, and they hope what this generation of young Asian entrepreneurs will achieve.
