UK elections 2019: Brexit and NHS dominate election campaign debate – BBC News

Conservatives and Labor have explained their main field to voters. Prime Minister Boris Johnson said in his first major campaign speech that a Conservative government would unite the country and “increase the level” of opportunities for people with massive investment in health, better infrastructure, more police and a green revolution. But he said the key issue to be addressed is Brexit. Meanwhile, Labor vowed to keep the Tories in the NHS in England. Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn has also had questions about his stance on allowing a second referendum on Scottish independence. When he began his two-day tour in Scotland today, he said he would not accept it during the first term of the Labor government, but then rowed in the early years saying it was not a priority. Sophie Raworth presents tonight’s BBC News highlights Ten Day events with BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg, health editor Hugh Pym and Scottish editor Sarah Smith.
