As Bobcat and Lake fire survivors repair and rebuild their homes, the Federal Administration has teamed up with local hardware stores to provide free information and advice on how to make homes damaged by wildfires stronger and safer.

FEMA Community Outreach is working with two local home warehouses to provide an in-store information table through December 15th.

Residents can get free brochures and books on flood insurance, earthquake preparedness, and earthquake safety. Guides for building in bushfire areas will be available along with other tips and advice on making homes stronger and safer.

The available information will provide the latest and most advanced ways to make homes more resistant to natural disasters. Home and business owners can receive free information sheets, in English and Spanish, on cost-effective rebuilding and repair techniques.

When a major disaster is declared, risk mitigation grant program funding may be available to homeowners to help rebuild their homes stronger than they were before the disaster.
