Brandon Bernard, sentenced to death, has been executed in Indiana after last-minute abuse by the U.S. Supreme Court. Bernard, 40, was convicted of murder when he was a teenager in 1999, and is the youngest criminal to be executed by the federal government in nearly 70 years. Bernard told him he felt sorry for the family of the couple who died before he died of a fatal injection on Thursday. Four more executions are planned before the end of Donald Trump’s presidency.
