A disturbing new alert issued by the Department of Homeland Security’s cyber arms revealed that Russian hackers suspected an ongoing campaign of intrusion into government agencies, private companies and critical infrastructure entities, using several unidentified tactics and not a single dangerous software program. Specifically, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said in a statement that the vulnerability of SolarWinds Orion software known this week is not the only way hackers can compromise different online networks – warning that in some cases victims appear to have been hacked but never using problematic software.
