An earthquake hits Italy near the area hardest hit by the Corona virus

Northern Italy was struck by an earthquake as it continued to fight the coronavirus.

The 4.3-magnitude earthquake hit Emilia-Romagna – about one kilometer from Koli – which was one of the areas hardest hit by the outbreak of Covid 19 in the country.

According to the center, the earthquake occurred 46 km northeast of Genoa, where witnesses said they felt the vibration. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or serious damage.

It was recorded at 11:42 am local time and felt light tremors in Milan, in the neighboring Lombardy region, and the borders of Switzerland.

“My bed shook a little bit for four seconds or more,” said one person in Pavia, Lombardy, who lives on the second floor of a building.

Another male from the same city said his table swayed and moved a chandelier.

Another said in Genoa, “I am in a building on the sixth floor and I felt a wave of about five seconds.”

Many Italians, still in ban, have moved to social media, calling 2020 the worst year ever due to her last misfortune.

One of the Italian social media users tweeted, “But who did we do so badly that we deserved all these tragedies? # Earthquake”.

Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy were the two regions hardest hit by the epidemic, which killed more than 21,000 people in the country.

Of these, 11,400 were in the Lombardy region and 2,800 in Emilia Romagna.
