Belfast’s worst violence in years as British and Irish leaders call for calm – BBC News
The prime ministers of Britain and Ireland have issued a joint statement calling for calm in the days after the riots in Northern Ireland. Belfast Police said the violence is the worst they have seen in recent years, with many believing the scenes were in the past. During the emergency session of the Northern Ireland Assembly, politicians from all sides lined up to condemn the violence.
