Engineering professor solves the mystery of deep earthquakes

Xanthippi Markenscoff, an engineering professor from the School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego, has solved a mystery about the deep earthquakes that have puzzled the scientific community since they were first discovered in the 1920s.
