60 new COVID-19 cases reported in Leavenworth County
The Leavenworth County Health Department has reported 60 new cases of coronavirus in the county since last week.
The Update released by the Leavenworth County Health Department on Monday was the agency’s first COVID-19 update since July 7.
Of the 60 new Leavenworth County cases reported since July 7, 54 are associated with people who have not been vaccinated with COVID-19.
The remaining 6 cases involve vaccinated people. However, it is not clear from the Ministry of Health report whether these people are considered fully vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health reported on Monday that a case of COVID-19 previously reported at a Lansing correctional facility had been transferred to another area. This change affects the total number of cases recorded in Leavenworth County.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 7,048 confirmed cases of the virus in the county.
As of Monday, Leavenworth County Health Department personnel were monitoring 67 active cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 56 counties have died of complications from COVID-19.
One of the residents of Leavenworth County was in the hospital for COVID-19 on Monday. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 242 counties have been hospitalized for COVID-19.
The Leavenworth County Health Department will host a walk-in vaccination clinic on Thursday. The clinic runs from 9 am to 4 pm at the Health Department at 500 Eisenhower Street.
The clinic offers Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which is licensed for people over 12 years of age.
The clinic also offers adult-approved Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
No clinic reservation is required. There are no residence requirements.
