PE teachers endure harsh COVID and recommend vaccination

Terry Gria, a PE teacher at Cypress Springs Elementary School, developed a severe case of COVID-19 in January before she was eligible for vaccination and was hospitalized for several weeks.
He wishes he had the opportunity to get a vaccine to prevent the virus, but now he says he is grateful for his second chance in life.
Between feeding tubes, chest tubes, and collapsed lungs, he lost the ability to perform basic tasks such as walking, eating, and speaking.
When he fought for his life, he drew the idea of recovering with his children to do what he liked.
“When I’m on this basketball court, I feel this is my home, my second home,” Greer says.
True to the nature of his sports enthusiast, he took the idea of a champion.
“Honestly, I like to win,” Greer said. “So I wanted to do it and beat it as soon as possible, so I wanted to be here and worked hard.”
He teaches physical education and sports, so he encourages everyone to get vaccinated.
That’s what it means to be a team player, says Greer.
“You are not the only one helping. You are helping the whole family. I don’t want other families to experience what my family experienced at worst. And My wife had to tell my children that my father might not be able to go home. “
OCPS also plays that role. Employees who show evidence that they have been vaccinated with COVID-19 by October 31 will receive $ 200 as part of the COVID-19 incentive program.
